We are offering a one-year industry placement opportunity for motivated and curious Electrical Engineering students to join our growing Power Systems team in our new Manchester office.
This is a fantastic chance to apply your university learning to real-world engineering projects, gaining hands-on experience and developing technical and professional skills in a supportive environment.

Our Placements are open to applicants who are currently studying in the UK.

What to Expect
As a Placement Power Systems Engineer, you’ll be embedded within our expert team, working on live projects that contribute directly to the UK’s low-carbon energy future.
You’ll assist in power systems studies and analysis, developing your understanding of network behaviour and engineering best practices.
Starting date: September 2025

Your Responsibilities
• Assisting in building and running simulation models using tools such as ETAP, DIgSILENT, PSCAD, and IPSA.
• Supporting steady state and dynamic studies, including load flow, fault level analysis, voltage stability, and harmonic analysis.
• Preparing technical documents and reports and helping respond to client queries.
• Collaborating with engineers across the business and contributing to team discussions and problem-solving.

Who We’re Looking For
• You are currently enrolled in a relevant degree course (e.g. Electrical or Electronic Engineering) and seeking a placement year as part of your studies.
• Have a keen interest in power systems and renewable energy integration.
• Are a confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
• You are organised, curious, and enjoy working as part of a team.
• Have some familiarity with power systems software tools.
• Interest in sustainability and net-zero energy systems.
