Enspec Power is proud to announce the renewal of its maintenance framework agreement with ScottishPower Renewables (SPR), marking the continuation of a trusted partnership that supports the performance and reliability of key windfarm infrastructure across the UK.

The new four-year agreement covers the planned maintenance of reactive compensation equipment installed across multiple SPR windfarms in Scotland, England, and Northern Ireland. This includes Statcom transformers, shunt reactors, and capacitor banks, which are essential components for grid stability and efficient energy export.

Together, the sites covered under this agreement represent over 576MW of generation capacity from 292 turbines — enough to power the equivalent of more than 360,000 homes.

“We’re pleased to be working with Enspec Power again to ensure the performance of our installations is maximised whilst supporting the UK supply chain,” said Joe Mitchell, Operations and Maintenance Director at ScottishPower Renewables.

Enspec’s work with SPR dates back over 15 years, with the first formal maintenance framework established in 2021. Since then, Enspec has delivered annual planned maintenance, as well as upgrades, repairs, and replacements of critical components as needed — helping ensure the long-term operation of SPR’s renewable assets.

“Reactive compensation equipment is essential for windfarms to generate and export green electricity,” said Tony Cook, Director of Site Services at Enspec Power. “We pride ourselves on proactive maintenance that enhances the resilience and performance of these assets throughout their operational life.”

As a UK-based engineering company with a strong legacy in reactive power solutions, Enspec remains committed to providing reliable, expert-led support to key players in the renewable energy sector.
