2021 has been one of the most challenging and rewarding year’s to date in Enspec’s history. In the wake of Brexit and Covid difficulties, we’ve managed to see record growth, which is all down to our team’s excellent talent and dedication.
Our team has expanded by both player and department, adding in talented members such as Director Mara Rastall, Wireman Craig Cooper, Applications Engineer Daniel Waddie and Marketing Apprentice Marshall Jones, stretching across developing and new departments of engineering, manufacturing, marketing and finance. We’ve also celebrated another 10th work anniversary with Project Engineer Luke Adams, and 2022 will see another two 20th work anniversaries.
In the last year, we executed our most significant single contract to date of £1.25mil and going into 2022, we have open sales orders already approaching £3mil with the average contract getting bigger and bigger.
We’ve exported internationally to Ireland and Sweden. We have made significant strides with our US market, with our Power System Studies service expansion and the launch of our US website (click here to see), with multiple other international opportunities on the horizon.
The UK is also seeing significant growth, with Enspec’s knowledge on energy efficiency applied to sustainability efforts. This has led to an entirely new consultancy offering for large energy users to help them achieve Net-Zero in their commercial process. We’re also very excited about potential involvement with various green and blue hydrogen production opportunities, which we see as a significant contributing factor along with renewable energy to combat the current global carbon crisis.
These accomplishments have been in part a product of our own sustainability reflection. Enspec has pledged to operate at Net-Zero by 2030, for which we’ve completed our carbon audit, we’ve attended two sustainability courses to increase our own carbon awareness and will be publishing our first Sustainability Report in Q1 of next year. We’ve renovated our HQ in St. Helens, specifically looking to work with suppliers with sustainability plans and have invested in standing desks and better equipment to offer increased health benefits to our team.
To top off an already incredible year, Enspec has also won its first award as Employer of the Year by the St. Helens Chamber.
We sincerely wish our colleagues, clients and friends a very happy holiday season. While this year has been an incredible journey, one that we are looking forward to celebrating over the next week, we’re equally in anticipation of 2022 efforts and success.
