This is a senior individual-contributor role within the Sales team, responsible for developing target markets, strategic accounts and complex commercial opportunities across Enspec’s consultancy, engineered products and site services. We’re looking for someone who combines strong commercial capability with sufficient technical understanding to identify client challenges, develop the right overall solution, and lead six-figure to multi-million-pound opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Market Development
- Develop target sectors and strategic accounts, identifying key organisations, investment programmes, projects and decision-makers.
- Proactively generate, qualify and develop new business opportunities through direct engagement, networking and market intelligence.
- Own significant opportunities through the full commercial cycle from initial engagement and qualification to proposal, negotiation, contract award and handover.
- Lead on complex opportunities, proposals, tenders and client presentations.
- Build and maintain a strong qualified pipeline against agreed revenue and order-intake targets.
- Monitor market activity and emerging opportunities to strengthen Enspec’s position within target sectors.
Client & Account Development
- Build relationships with end users, operators, consultants, EPCs, contractors, M&E specialists and senior technical and commercial decision-makers.
- Develop high-value strategic accounts with repeat and long-term potential.
- Understand client challenges and work with Enspec’s technical specialists to develop appropriate solutions.
- Identify opportunities across Enspec’s consultancy, engineered products and site services, recognising how one service or solution can create opportunities for others.
- Represent Enspec at client meetings, exhibitions, conferences and industry events.
Commercial Ownership
- Coordinate technical and commercial input from across Enspec while maintaining ownership of major opportunities.
- Lead commercial proposals and negotiations through to contract award and effective internal handover.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, opportunity plans and client activity.
- Report on pipeline, order intake, revenue, major opportunities and market-development activity.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Substantial experience, typically around 8 years or equivalent, in technical sales, business development or consultancy within electrical engineering, power systems, industrial infrastructure or a closely related market.
- Proven experience developing and closing complex six-figure opportunities, ideally including multi-million-pound contracts.
- Experience selling complex technical services, engineered products or integrated solutions to industrial or critical-infrastructure clients.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience of proposals, tenders and negotiations.
- Sufficient technical understanding to identify client requirements and engage the appropriate technical specialists.
- Confident engaging with senior technical and commercial decision-makers.
- Strong communication, relationship-management, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of significant commercial opportunities.
- Willingness to travel to meet clients and attend industry events.
Desirable
- Established relationships within one or more of Enspec’s target industrial or critical-infrastructure sectors.
- Experience within power quality, power systems or electrical infrastructure.
Benefits
- Competitive salary with a generous commission scheme.
- Opportunities for career growth and advancement within a dynamic and growing company.
- Flexible working hours and a supportive work environment.
- Training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am to 4:30pm Monday – Thursday and 8am to 1:00pm on Friday, with a half-hour lunch.
