Mohammad Salim

Senior Power Systems Engineer

As a Senior Power Systems Engineer, Mohammad’s primary role is to carry out power system studies and provide specialist technical consulting, including steady-state studies such as load flow, fault level, motor starting and reactive compensation.

In addition to providing grid connection support to onshore and offshore developers, as well as protection coordination and Arc Flash studies, Mohammad has extensive expertise in protection design and relay settings calculations, CT&VT sizing on a wide range of protection types such as differential, overcurrent and earth fault protection. He’s also trained in ETAP, PSCAD, IPSA, PowerFactory – DIgSILENT and has successfully achieved 50 project milestones on Arc Flash Studies, Mitigation Measures and Strategies.

Mohammad believes the only way to avoid costly and dangerous Arc Flash incidents is to perform an Arc Flash assessment; reporting and mitigating the energy levels, recommending the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) alongside alerting and training the onsite workers of Arc Flash hazards.

Mohammad sees the current developments within the industry as a golden opportunity for Power Systems Engineers. With new technical challenges leading to more innovation and growth, Mohammad knows Enspec is the perfect environment to push his capabilities and achieve his professional goals.

Mohammad holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical Power Systems and is currently studying for a MSc. He’s also studied at the Sudan University of Sciences and Technology (SUST) and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).
