Last month, Duncan Lynch was working in the warmth of Bahrain. This month it was back to more traditional winter weather conditions when he and Peter French commissioned a 7.5 M-VAr C-type filter at a wind farm in Scotland.
They said “after a very mild winter so far, this came as a bit of a reality check. We’re used to working in freezing conditions and wind farms are often found in very remote and exposed sites. However, conditions became progressively worse until we were unable to access the site. Happily we got the job done just as soon as the weather improved”
When fully operational, the wind farm will employ it’s 20+ turbines to generate over 60MW of clean electricity and contribute to a local community funds. Now that gives us a nice warm feeling!
